2008 B-SERIES
2008 MAZDA B-SERIES: A VERSATILE PICKUP TRUCK
-- Choice of 3 Engines, 2 Cab Configurations, 2-or 4-Wheel Drive --

(Richmond Hill, ON): For the 2008 model year the B-Series is

available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; with a choice of

three engines, two cab configurations and three trim levels, offering

consumers more choices than any other import brand.

Ladder-frame construction, with fully boxed frame rails, produces

a rugged platform for Mazda’s pickup trucks, which ride on

independent, double-wishbone front suspension with a stabilizer bar,

and a solid-axle rear suspension with leaf springs. New for 2008, the ride

height on 4x2 Dual Sport and 4x4 models has been reduced by 16mm,

and 4x4s receive new front and rear 35mm shocks.

The Mazda B2300, designated as such based upon its 2.3-litre,

143-horsepower, four-cylinder engine, is available in two-wheel drive,

regular cab configuration in SX trim grade. A five-speed manual

transmission is standard with a five-speed automatic transmission

available as an option. This vehicle was awarded an EnerGuide

award from the Canadian government as the most fuel-efficient

compact pickup truck in its class.

A carbon-like centre panel finish and silver meter rings are

standard amenities on the B2300 as are 15-inch, 7-spoke steel wheels,

4-wheel ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBFD), sliding rear

window, and 60/40 split bench seat. Also standard are a Tire Pressure

Monitoring system, auxiliary audio input jack, and MP3-compatible CD

player.

The 2008 B3000 is the model that offers the most choices to the

compact truck consumer looking for a two-wheel drive truck.

Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 148-horsepower, the

B3000 is available in an extended cab Dual Sport model.

Dual Sport models feature 15-inch “tear drop” alloy wheels,

body coloured door handles, bumpers, front grille surround and lower

front facia, fog lights, and side facing rear jump seats in addition to

numerous other features.

New for 2008 is a standard Class III hitch receiver (on Cab Plus

and 4x4 models), as well as the addition of a factory-installed Sirius

Satellite Radio to the optional Power Package and SE+ Package (4x4

models). The Power Package is available on the B3000 Dual Sport

models and standard on the B4000 Dual Sport model. The SE+

Package is available on B4000 4x4 models.

For maximum power, the 2008 B4000, offered only in extended

cab configuration, is available in two-wheel-drive Dual Sport or fourwheel-

drive SE versions. The 4.0-litre, V6 engine produces 207-

horsepower and 238 lb-ft of torque, offering the greatest towing

capacity in Mazda’s lineup.

Air conditioning, power door locks and windows, keyless entry,

and fog lights are among the standard features on the two wheel

drive model. On the four-wheel-drive versions 16-inch alloy wheels,

front suspension skid plates, front tow hooks, and premium cloth

upholstery are standard. The SE “plus” package is available as an

option on the four-wheel drive model, and includes power door

mirrors, locks and windows, keyless entry, cruise control, tilt steering

wheel, leather wrapped steering wheel, and sport bucket seats.

Among the standard features on every Mazda pickup truck is a

3-year roadside assistance program. Customers can feel secure

knowing that wherever they travel throughout North America should

the need arise they can obtain towing, winching, battery boosting,

emergency fuel delivery, and tire changing services. They will even

get help if locked out of the vehicle. Travel planning services and

emergency travel expense reimbursement are included in the

roadside assistance program.

The 2008 B2300/B3000/B4000 are covered by a 3-year or 60,000

km vehicle warranty that covers every part of the vehicle except those

subject to normal wear. Additional warranties cover powertrain and

safety restraint components for a period of 5 years or 100,000 km, body

sheet metal perforation for 5 years unlimited kilometres and selected

emission control components for 8 years or 128,000 km.
