2008 MAZDA5: MORE STANDARD FEATURES FOR INCREASED COMFORT AND SAFETY

(Richmond Hill, ON): The compact-size Mazda5 offers Canadian

consumers looking for outstanding fuel economy and seating for six

people a unique choice. Featuring three rows of seats and two sliding

rear doors, the Mazda5 is capable of carrying 6 people comfortably.

When not required for seating, the rear 50/50 split bench seat folds flat,

providing exceptional cargo capacity for a compact vehicle.

The 2008 Mazda5 will be offered in two trim grades: GS and GT.

Both trim grades are powered by Mazda’s 2.3-litre, four-cylinder

engine, which in the Mazda5 produces 153-horsepower and 148-lb. ft

of torque. A five-speed manual transmission; four-wheel disc brakes

with ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution; driver and passenger

front air bags, side airbags and side air curtains; front and rear stabilizer

bars; power windows, locks and mirrors; dual sliding doors; tilt and

telescopic steering with steering wheel mounted audio controls;

AM/FM/CD player with 4-speakers; rain-sensing front windshield wipers;

and remote keyless entry are just a few of the many standard features

on the Mazda5.

For 2008, the Mazda5 receives a minor facelift with new

redesigned front and rear bumpers and front grille, new LED tailamps

(GT model), and redesigned 16" & 17" alloy wheels. On the inside, the

front passenger seat now includes an inner armrest while the second

row of seats get outer armrests, and there are two new interior colours

available: sand (cloth seat material for GS and leather for GT) and

black (cloth for GS & leather for GT). New black-out gauges and

an auxiliary audio input jack are also now standard.

The Mazda5 GS comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and

205/55 R16 all-season tires, and dual front airbags, side airbags and

curtain airbags are now standard. Options available on the Mazda5

GS include a new five-speed sport automatic transmission and air

conditioning with automatic climate control and 2

nd-row cool air ventsnd-row cool air

Among the many standard features on the 2008 Mazda5 is a 3-

year roadside assistance program. Customers can feel secure

knowing that wherever they travel throughout North America should

the need arise they can obtain towing, winching, battery boosting,

emergency fuel delivery, and tire changing services. They will even

get help if locked out of the vehicle. Travel planning services and

emergency travel expense reimbursement are included in the

roadside assistance program.

The 2008 Mazda5 is covered by a 3-year or 80,000 km vehicle

warranty that covers every part of the vehicle except those subject to

normal wear.

Additional warranties cover powertrain and safety restraint

components for a period of 5 years or 100,000 km, body sheet metal

perforation for 5 years unlimited kilometres and selected emission

control components for 8 years or 128,000 km.

The top-of-the-line Mazda5 GT sports larger, 17-inch alloy wheels

with 205/50 R17 all-season tires; cruise control with steering wheel

mounted controls; six, instead of four, speakers; a fold-out table and

storage compartment that is stored in one of the middle row seats;

power moonroof; leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob; fog

lamps and rear roof spoiler. As well, on the Mazda5 GT model, closing

the dual sliding rear doors is assisted by a small motor that pulls the

door securely into place once it has travelled the length of the door

rail.

New for 2008, the Mazda5 GT now comes standard with LED

taillamps, air conditioning with climate controls and 2

vents with fan-speed control, Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System,

and a new dark grey & silver instrument panel.

An optional Leather Package is available on the Mazda5 GT.

This package adds leather seats, of which the driver and front

passenger seats are heated. A Navigation System with CD changer is

also now available as an option on the GT model.
