2012 MAZDA2
2012 Mazda2 offers fun-to-drive dynamics in subcompact segment
Great things come in concentrated zoom-zoom packages

(Richmond Hill, ON): Mazda2 is a car that only the engineers at Mazda could have created. It was designed and engineered from scratch to be a pure Mazda, offering the sort of driving experience that could only come from the company that developed the timeless MX-5 two-seat roadster, and it brings a combination of athletic design and dynamic performance to the subcompact class.

While developing the Mazda2, Mazda took a thorough look at global trends and carefully worked to identify the truly beneficial values that could be infused into a global subcompact car. As a result, the Mazda2 carries Mazda’s unique brand values such as exhilarating driving performance and eye-catching design to the segment, without sacrificing the basic requirements for subcompact cars: superior fuel efficiency, outstanding value, high crash-safety performance and ample passenger space. 2

The 2012 Mazda2 is available in two trim levels – the entry-level GX and top-grade GS. Both trim levels offer the versatility, features and style consumers in the market for a subcompact want, at a price they can afford. The Mazda2 GX is powered by a 100 horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and is available with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers, 185/55/R15 all-season tires, power door mirrors, power door locks, power windows with driver’s one-touch up/down, tilt steering, an AM/FM/CD player with MP3 capability, audio auxiliary jack, intermittent rear window wiper/washer and 60/40 split fold-down rear seats.

The top-of-the-line Mazda2 GS trim sports everything that the GX with Convenience Package does, with the addition of: 15-inch alloy wheels, a roof spoiler, side sill extensions, chrome exhaust finisher, fog lights, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, air conditioning, leather-wrapped steering wheel and two extra speakers (six speakers). A four-speed automatic transmission is also available as an option on the Mazda2 GS.

All Mazda2’s include a long and impressive list of safety features, including: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Traction Control System (TCS), Electric Power Assist (EPAS) steering system, "Triple H" body construction, side-impact door beams, crushable 3

brake and accelerator pedal assembly, advanced dual front air bags, front seat side air bags, side air curtains, engine immobilizer anti-theft system, and second row ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.

The 2012 Mazda2 is also equipped with Mazda’s Brake Override system. This system always prioritizes the brake pedal over the accelerator pedal, should both be engaged simultaneously, allowing the vehicle to be brought to a safe stop every time. Activation of this system is recorded in the electronic Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

Among the numerous standard features on the 2012 Mazda2 is a 3-year roadside assistance program. Customers can feel secure knowing that wherever they travel throughout North America they can obtain towing, winching, battery boosting, emergency fuel delivery, and tire changing services if needed. They will even get help if locked out of the vehicle. Travel planning services and emergency travel expense reimbursement are included in the roadside assistance program.

The 2012 Mazda2 is covered by a 3-year or 80,000 km vehicle warranty that covers every part of the vehicle except those subject to normal wear. Additional warranties cover powertrain and safety restraint components for a period of 5 years or 100,000 km, body sheet metal perforation for 5 years unlimited kilometres and selected emission control components for 8 years or 128,000 km. 4
