RICHMOND HILL, ON, Oct. 1, 2014 /CNW/ - Mazda Canada announced sales for September 2014 today totaling 6,338, which is an increase of 12% compared to September 2013. Total year-to-date sales of 56,921 are up by 2% versus 2013.
Sales in September were led by the compact Mazda3 with 3,849 sold, increasing 16% versus September 2013. The CX-5 was once again the second-best selling model for Mazda in September, and enjoyed its best September on record with sales of 1,719 units. Year-to-date the CX-5 is up by 9% versus 2013. In September, 91% of all Mazda vehicles sold were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology.
"Every month it seems as though there are new sales records being set in the compact car and crossover segments, and the Mazda3 and CX-5 are ready to take on all comers," said Clark Colby, Director, Sales Operations. "With their ideal blend of fuel efficiency, feature-rich interiors, and driving dynamics, it's no surprise to see sales of both of these award-winning vehicles are growing steadily."
The 2015 Mazda3 is just hitting showrooms and the GT now features the 184 horsepower engine with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. With power approaching hot-hatch territory and Mazda's hallmark handling capabilities, plus luxury and refinement that are unexpected in the compact car segment, it's the perfect mixture of rowdiness and maturity in a beautiful KODO-designed package.
